An Important Message from Our Board President

December 27, 2023

Dear St. Michael’s Friends and Families,

In this season of giving, I am asking you to consider adding St. Michael’s to your gift list. As you may know, St. Michaels is in the midst of a $6.7 million capital campaign to:
● address critically needed renovations to our aging buildings;
● replace major systems that are at the end of their life expectancies;
● add new classrooms to increase enrollment; and
● expand supports and programs for families and community residents

I hope that you received our recent newsletter with campaign and construction updates. Your donation is urgently needed for St. Michael’s to finish renovations on schedule and in time for the 2024 school year. Renovations will provide improved spaces for children already enrolled as well as help us accommodate the many families on our waiting list.

As both a parent of a St. Michael’s preschooler and President of the Board of Directors, I can personally attest to how important and impactful St. Michael’s is to our community and our state. Our Executive Director provides compassionate care and proven leadership to not only St. Michael’s, but the entire early childhood community in Delaware. My daughter Paige has attended St. Michael’s since she was an infant and her teachers have consistently provided innovative, engaging instruction and curriculum. As a family, we’ve enjoyed the many community-building and parent events. Being a part of St. Michael’s as both a parent and Board President has been a consistent source of inspiration for me.

St. Michael’s School and Nursery has been providing Wilmington’s youngest residents with a caring, stable and enriching environment for over a century. It has consistently responded to the changing needs of our community – serving children, families and the early childhood workforce through not one, but now two pandemics in our history.

We have been very successful so far in raising over $4 million dollars from foundations, federal and local government sources, Wilmington businesses and generous individuals who have served St. Michaels over the years. But now, we need your help to complete the work.

I’m asking you to join me and my family, our Board and other committed individuals who have already pledged their support to this transformative project. Please consider a gift of any amount that is meaningful to you to help us finish the construction. You will be part of St. Michael’s mission to build strong foundations for all children – now and for generations to come. Thank you for your consideration. Best wishes for a healthy and joyous New Year.

Gratefully,

Jack Stucker, Esq.
Board President and St. Michael’s Parent
